SC10 4x4 Thread
I am looking at another servo and the savox 1258TG looks great speed and torque wise. But I heard this servo causes glitching because of the power that it needs to operate. I am running a LRP sxx v2 TC Spec speed controler. Anyone with experiance with this servo did you need anything extra to solve the glitching promblem?
The slipper basket (clutch basket) allows you to add one more slipper pad for the rear drive. When a vehicle accelerates, weight gets transferred to the rear. AE only used one slipper pad to transfer the torque on the 4x4, and it wasn't enough.

I would go with Hitec, you won't have to worry about that problem.
I run the same savox 1258 off a novak havoc pro sc /ballistic 4.5 with no glitch buster and have no issues.
I run a mmm / 2650 combo in my losi 8ight with a jr 9100t and glitched like a tweaker the day after payday. Had to run a big ole cap ( glitch buster) in that to make it work. That lasted about 6 months then started to do the brown outs again. 1st thought was cap died , switched out with spare same brown out , ended up dropping in the castle externalbec( what a pain ) and now no issues till the frickin bec unit came lose and rubbed cv and shorted out and fried my jr9100t servo . So long 130 dollar servo, so buh bye mmm esc.

I think that the only "must do" mod is fixing the slipper and a good set of tires that fit the track, everything else is personal preference.
I would get the 3pad set of garodisc's first and try out that setup using the stock slipper (using only 2 pads) then if not happy add the basket or do the pin mod.

Thanks im just getting a 4x4 sc that handles good out of the box and no losi ethier . Im going to try to run it as a second class for indoors and a second class for outdoors so a truck that requires tuning to handle right il pass.
If i ran it as a first class than i would get it.

This is a for sure.

I'm honestly a little offended that you don't care about the second class you want to run. Cause that's what it comes down to when you want box performance and actually compete. The only way this can make any real sense, is if you are running a Stock 4x4 class. Then disregard anything in this post. Then I can see the concern for not wanting to touch your truck and only the Radio.
"requires tuning to handle right then i'll pass": gets under my skin.
I'm not raging or anything, I just can't understand if you actually are a racer, why you would assess tuning as 'not an option'. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th Class. What a Cop out.
OFNA's require alot of work
Losi has to get lightened up
AE's has to get weighted down
SL4x4 have to be completely restructured
(to list a few things)
'ya got my eye twitchin' sonny!

This debate about what is needed and not needed is very funny. I get beat by box stock with just F/R swaybars. 95% of it is all about driving better. 5% set up and the big part of it is correct tires.
My current set up saddle with Coyote brace, clutch basket and swaybars is it really needed, no but this hobby is about trying new things. Some might think it's worth it, some not.
Plus one's racer set up doesn't mean it's going to work for you everybody drives different.
Just my 2 cents
