I have tried one and it's ballistic! I have the Team version and are very impressed by its power, both bottom- and top-end.
Very easy to run-in too.

@Finken: Du kan se den på Geiteryggen

Yup!!

Attendence at my local track has dwindled because of this. $300+ for a stock three port .12?!! . How is this class(or hobby for that matter) supposed to grow when a teenage kid going to have a heck of a time to convince his parents to buy an engine that costs that much. Three years ago(and $150 engines) we had 30-40 racers and counting but now we have less than twenty. .12 size engine technology has not advanced that much to justify the prices we see now.

$300 8-port .21.........OK

$300 3-port .12.........NOPE!!!

seriously...Its not that my dad won't get a $150 engine..its just if he did he'd be that much short on something more important...like a house payment...LOL

Priorities!

BTW, I can't wait for the less than $200 RD/Richey engines to be released. Just read some great news on the forum.

I don't think the problem is the motor prices....Look at it this way.....A few years back, when we were all running Kyosho spyders and and HPI's....with all the hop ups,you still had cars that cost in the 700 to 1,000 range....Today,you could buy any of the pro chassis's,run a stock OS TR,and still have a faster car than those, and be under 5 or 6 hundred with radio gear...

The track should start limiting engine prices in certain classes...Racing is a monkey-see,monkey-do reaction...people see the fastest engines, and think they need them to be fast...

If everyone were told there is a certain motor allowed, and every one ran the same basic thing, you'd all have fun,at less cost...

We ran a demo of RC cars at a BMW mini show last year....
You couln't believe the amount of fun we had...stock mini's with cv 12's........
