Yes, I would say always taking your engine apart is not a real good idea, unless you just want to do it for fun. I look at the dis-assembly of an engine as a process, and a serious commitment. If you take an engine apart, you have to take it all the way apart, clean and lube all the parts in a sterile environment, and then carefully put it back together. Not something I take lightly, and I have had engines run a long long time without being opened up. Just clean the outside and take care of the air filter and clutch.

Your conrod doesn't need to be changed, just race and have fun.
