The Havoc 2S esc can be operated only with a motor with temp overload built-in---such as Novak motors.
Our product information clearly states that this budget controller was designed specifically to operate safely with our motors. There may be other brand motors that include this temp sensor, but we do not know which mfgs include it.
The Havoc 2S ESC and motor contain Thermal Overload Protection circuitry to protect the system from overheating and damage. In fact, the ESC will only operate with brushless motors that have built-in thermal protection that follow ROAR guidelines, such as Novak’s Ballistic Spec Brushless Motors (#3610-#3621) and SS Pro Brushless Motors (#3408 - #3421). This sophisticated feature ensures a fun day at the track without the worry of overheating.

This situation happened twice this week for myself and a friend. 2 different Havoc speed controls and 2 different LRP and Speed Passion motors. Hook up a Novak motor and the esc works fine.
Just asking...Thanks
