by the sounds of it you just broke your engine in not long ago? the more you run it the better it will get. there are many things you can do to get alittle better run time, a few are....
exhaust cooler
fuel filter
little longer fuel line... if allowed at event
take spacer out of tank... if allowed at track
lighter throttle finger....(smoother driving) thats my biggest problem
softer clutch set up ( less rev- smoother)
just a few things maybe to look at. good luck at your event!
