Blade, it must be your driving (j/k, you've dominated at Revs). I have bent axles in both my RC8 (primarily fronts) and RC8T. I use full droop front and rear in my RC8T and so far, it was an isolated incident. Lately, I've been limiting my front droop in my RC8 and haven't had an issue.

shock towers: strength and weight
carbon fiber or Blue "FT" Aluminum?

I have both so purchasing them isn't an issue. any thoughts?
Carbon towers are generally lighter than the FT aluminum, and depending on how the carbon is laid up or if it is graphite, composite towers will generally be both stiffer and stronger than aluminum towers. But it's how they fail that is different. Aluminum experiences ductile failure (bends/yields prior to fracture) whereas composites will experience brittle failure (fracture without much yielding). If you do push these things to failure, a brittle failure with usually end your day, but with a ductile failure you may be able to finish the race.

I've run the SNR towers on several vehicles and I run the SNR RC8 chassis. I haven't broken an SNR part yet.
