So I bought just the kit on Jan. 3rd. and assembled it in 4 days. After assembling it, I been so anxious to get everything else (servo, transmitter, motor/esc, lipo batteries).

But before that I got side tracked and bought an Iwata airbrush (I never airbrushed in my life!!!) so I can put true flames on the lexan rc8 body. That failed but I still made use of the airbrush and painted it a color changing scheme of purple/gold/teal paint from Spaz Stix. It looks awesome btw. But it wouldve been nice with some true flame effects along with it.

2 weeks ago I got back on track and bought the servo and transmitter at the same time. I went by a suggestion someone told me and got the hitech 7955 steering servo. The guy told me "you'll never ever have to worry about servo failure. Pretty much bomb proof. That's it." He also recommended any of the Spektrum line of radios. He mentioned using the DX2S. And guess what, I got that too.

So for the days after getting the servo and the radio, I been researching on what motor to get. Mamba Monster or a Tekin. I initially wanted to go with the Tekin in either the 2650kv or the 2250kv. But after doing some research and speaking to hobby stores staff, It seems they all prefer the Mamba Monster. So Mamba Monster it is.

Now all I was left to make a decision on was whether to get the 2650kv or the 2200kv. I want my rc8be to be screaming fast so the 2650kv seemed to be the choice for top end. Which ever I chose, I would still have to wait a few months to actually have the funds to burn in getting it. Damn thing cost $300!!. But then it all changed yesterday. My wonderful girlfriend surprised me and offered to get my motor. So i called all over town and only one store within driving distance had one in stock but it was the 2200kv. Sold!!! I don't care about top end. I just want the damn thing to work! So she ended up spending just over $600 cause she included 2 2s lipo batteries. YES!!!

So today I got it all set up and dialed in and man...its so great to hear it run. After running it up and down the street I already grinded down the spur gear. bummer but its ok, im gonna replace that anyways.
