Agreed.. The only time our guys ran 40% was up in Colorado last year. Puddin' called me and asked about shimming for that much nitro, and I was thinking "WTF is he doing that for?" Then it hit me much less atmospheric pressure. I think we settled on four shims (two aluminum and two copper), due to the increased compression of 40%, even at higher elevations.
Maybe chris peralta can confirm this, since he runs up there.
Anyways, I digress... the only "special" engines or parts our guys ran last year were GX-5Rs with a differently coated crank. As of right now, we have a total of 4 prototype GXIIs, which is the final revision. These are the same as will be available next month.
As for "special" fuel blends, etc... I believe all of our team guys run either byrons or nitrotane, and it's the same stuff that's available on the store shelf. Only difference is they have it shipped directly to them, and it doesnt sit on a store shelf.
