The GTP2 is a lot of fun, however my only complaint is the brakes. They seem way underpowered for an 8lb object going that fast. I am using the rtr servos as they have Futaba plugs(I just swapped out the receivers to use my Senior). It's a single vented steel disc with blue pads on the calliper plates.
There are a few of us who have similar cars and have run at the CORRC pavement track this summer. Cars are a kick to drive and the rubber tires will last for awhile (well not the soft kit tires). There are two threads here on RCTech for the IGT cars and yes there are better brake options for you.
