Find a reseller that is extremely dedicated and offers mods, repairs, and break-in services. Pay the little extra for the peace of mind. You'll get an engine that's been inspected, broken-in, and tuned pretty close for your area. These guys exist solely to make guys as fast as they can be with minimal risk and worry.

Here are a few of the guys that are most active here on RCTECH, in no particular order. I apologize in advance for omitting anyone. There are many others.

You forgot the best in the business AB mods

Hands down O.S. would be the best choice. In the past three os four years different buggies have won the big one including the rtr D8. They all had one thing in common. They where all powered buy the V-spec speed. Now O.S. has made it even better when no one could beat the old one. The over seas priceing is the best. when it gets to the U.S. expect it to be a $500 engine.
