No dude it was not a dud...The FMS has a very mild bottom compared to the engines we run... One day have Nid throw the 2013 back on his modified B5 and take it for a spin yourself, then come back and tell me how the bottom of your FMS compares afterward...drive em both back to back like I have and I challenge you to say any different then I am...... ... Not trying to knock the FMS its a nice engine, but its bottom end is very soft by my standards...sorry to say that but its the truth, not only does it show on the ground, it also shows on the dyno..The FMS has 187 degrees of exhaust timing and is based off a onroad engine design, you can't expect it to have a pile of bottom with that design and high exhaust timing, its not possible....Not saying its bad by any means, its just a characteristic.....To some its obviously more then enough bottom, but for others it is not enough....all personal preference ! if your happy with it thats all the matters....

I like the extra power so I can drive without trying to go full speed everywhere. The FMS just rips and make my race day that much better....

Best engine I've run to date....Still love my P5's though......

It's also super easy to tune.....During the hot days in Texas it runs best around 240-250 degrees. Fine with me......

Its all relative to what your used to my friend....To me the FMS is soft down low, and I am not the only one to think so....

In the end the stock FMS is shimmed safely to run 40% nitro, the stock compression ratio is very low...they can be run very safely with a total of .6 mm shims on 30%, which also helps bring up the bottom end..Tho at .6 mm the OD plugs may not be working so well as they do not tolerate higher compression that well....

in the end different strokes for different folks..I didn't want to post here again, but I figured the situation warranted one last post to explain my side .....
