Without a doubt, I think this is probably the most active thread on RCtech for any one model of engine. It's all due to the phenomenal customer service from Ron, and I think we all owe him a big thank you.

I went to a practice session at the new Fear Farm track in AZ on saturday. I had to work at 630 so I did not get to run the 8th scale track, as they were making finishing touches for the 1st race later that night... their 8th scale track is really something! But i ran the 10th scale track to get my chassis dialed in for the AMS race. It's actually not a bad 8th scale track... short but not cramped. I went through 3 tanks getting my camber, brakes and ride height dialed in, as I'd put all new arms, camber links, etc.etc. on the buggy. I also went back to the 17T clutch bell, as I may be seitching back to the old 2013 pipe that i have from the 2050 that runs so darn good... Ambient temp was about 90. Once i found the sweet spot and got my low end needle just how i like it (no high-low idle thing here) I got on the track and ran 3 tanks back to back. When I heard a bog, I'd pull off (no pit guy or pit lane here) and put-put over to the table, put it on the starter box, fill up and walk it back to the track, set her down on the beginning of the straight and walk up the ramp to the driver's stand. I'd run laps till it was time to do it again... after the 3rd tank was down to about a 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch left, I put-putted over to the table and took a temp... 191 degrees. I set it on the starter box, walked over to my buddy's table and said, 'wow check out how great my motor is running'.... lit a cigarette, and we started talking. After i put out the cig, i pulled the trigger... 'BRRRRAPPPP!' Still running, no load up. Plenty of power to do it all and nobody was killing me on the straight. I need to twist the screwdriver a bit more, to get the temps up a bit, but let me tell you this: 16T bell and colder ambient temps I was temping about 225. So with a 2013 I should really be able to get a few more hours out of my HSN. If you run B5/2013 you might wanna try going up one tooth on the clutchbell... it's got enough torque to pull it off, and also of note, my EPA on the throttle is set about 3/4 of the way to wide open... it will save you a pitstop or 2 in your mains.

If you're going to the AMS, I wanna get all the B5 drivers together for a picture to send to Ron. I was thinking perhaps Thursday after controlled practice???? What do you guys think? I'll be with the Team Terribles trailer. We'll also be signing up new members...and we sell WERKS engines (hopefully plugs and fuel are next). So if you're a B5'er and you want to take a group photo with our bugs and trugs at the AMS race let me know by PM.

Thanks Ron.... Your engine has given me one helluva season here over the winter, and as I head into summer it just doesn't wanna quit.
