For carpet I put 5mm front internal spacer in the shock and 3mm in the rear. Thats with the standard TRF shocks. If you use the new M-Chassis version TRF shocks you will use much less spacer wise.
In mine and several other local mini racers opinions the sways are a must on carpet. If the car is setup right it makes a HUGE difference. As do other small things...but I am only allowed to tell so much.

In other words, do the swaybars make the shocks function differently?
