Is it normal for the front bearing to weep a little fuel at all when running it rich for run in? I havent actually had a chance to pull the clutch and flywheel off yet to see if that is where it is coming from but there just seems to be a little excess fuel around the front of the motor after putting those 2 tanks through. It isnt affecting the idle, runtimes or tune at all though so I dont see it being a major problem.
Don't be concerned about the weeping around the front bearing. Two of the three 5 Ports I have owned did that, including my current motor. All my motors ran fine with no air leaks. If you want to, remove the flywheel and check the bearing for peace of mind. As a rule of thumb, as long as the rubber seal isn't turning with the inner bearing race it should be fine.
They seem to weep a little more when you are only running the motor for one or two tanks, especially during run in. I am thinking the motor is not reaching proper race temps so things havenīt expanded and bedded in fully. On my current motor after a 20 min race there is no weeping at all, but if I am just mucking around at home not running it hard, it will sometimes have a slight film around the bottom of the flywheel / crankcase end when I am finished.
