Can't comment on the "pop" but regarding temps you are rich with it. For the slowly decreasing idle you should check your idle gap. If it's been rich on LSN and you've compensated it with increasing the idle you might end up in situation like that. Ifä you'r lost on settings a good way is to set the idlegap and then needles to the default position and start going from there. Might be annoying but in many cases provides a faster way to the proper results.
