Also, when I first started running usgt, I was told it helps to sand down the middle ridge off the tire. My routine is to clean the tires after coming off the track with break cleaner, then 5 mins before getting on the track, sauce the tires. Then when you set the car down, hold the car and hit the throttle a few times and run.
Everyone uses SXT 3.0 at the track. I just started using brake cleaner.
Just so I understand completely.....clean the tires with brake cleaner after every run. Then sauce them 5 min before the race and do a burnout on the carpet to get the excess sauce off them.
Am I leaving anything out? I've only used sauce on VTA tires. Never used brake cleaner on them. it took a race day or two before new vta tires would wear in.
Also, when I do sauce the front tires in USGT, am I only saucing the inner half of the tread or doing the entire tread across?
