If you want to go with the lay down, then you do need to drill two holes.

I like how the 3 gear went around the track over the 4 gear, but I'm not super savvy on explaining exactly why. It has to do with weight transfer based on the motor rotation.

Thanks friend I got one on order now. The truck I bought is 90% assembled with the rear transmission but I think I'm going to switch it to this three gear mid motor before finishing the build. Thanks
