I'm in NJ and race in the surrounding states. When the tracks groove the defender is my go to tire when tire wear is high. There were times this past summer I wish I had bought the medium compound because soft still had way too much grip on the hotter race days. So as I stated above the compounds seem in line with most other tire makers in my opinion.
Yes I agree. I believe PL M4 is more like an Ultra Super Soft Compound then a super soft. SS James is probably in between a PL M3 & M4 compound. And the soft is only slightly harder then SS. The medium is much harder then soft.
