I wouldn't run pucks in a lay down... it doesn't have enough weight over the rear to make use of the quicker acceleration, plus you'd be removing even more. Now in my standup? Fuggetaboutit. Pucks all the way.

Make sure your drivetrain is as free as possible. My first B6 came alive after about two months. Built a new one (the one with the pucks) and it felt like a dog. Realized that all the crap grease in the bearings of my first one had pretty much been used up, which really freed things up. So I took the seals off the new ones, soaked them in citrus degreaser, blew out the crap with a compressor, and applied Schelle's high grade thin oil. Now the second car is a beast, too.
