You can actually do that with a 12R5.2 just like it is. You may need to change the front shock mount plate out to just a standoff with a ball stud on top because the plate will leave you less room for the electronics.
I ran my car like that for a little bit. But I ended up getting the Reflex kit just because I felt like the battery would be a little more secure.
You don't even need the standoff and ballstud. Just take the antenna mount from the front brace and bolt it directly to the chassis along with the shock mount from the 12R5/5.1. The holes are already in the chassis for the mount, and the original conversion kit for the 5.1 included the extra graphite shock mount for transverse battery position.
