One option may be to fall back to standard charge mode, making sure to not connect the balance leads. Certainly not ideal, but may allow you to charge. I wouldn't exceed 1C charge rate (1.4A in this case) when charging without a balance lead.
Before I did that, though, I would attempt to test the battery using a multi-meter (or purpose-built battery tester). First check the overall voltage at the positive and negative terminals and make sure it is higher than 9.6v. Then you can check the read out on each balance lead by using the positive lead on each balance terminal and the negative lead on the battery negative.
If each cell reads out a voltage through the balance lead, try another charger or double check how the balance lead is seated.
