I guess if you can't get anyone to solder it up for you then you have to do what you have to do to get your car on the track.
If its not getting hot enough, it will not be uncomfortable to hold
Didn't notice your in India... maybe the china warehouse would be a better choice to ship from and they probably have it in stock and even cheaper.
A gun or stick iron pales in comparison. That is a knock off of a $100 hakko and I have had mine for a few years now without any issues. It may take longer to get than going down to the store, but that's a tool that you'll have for years. And actually, I don't think that it would take very long at all from China to India.
