If it were carpet and perfectly smooth, lower CG may be an advantage. But on a bumpy track, your going backwards and undoing a couple decades of suspension design.
Kinda like trying a square wheel
All that being said though, doesn't hurt to try something new or in this case decades old.
But I think WC has pointed out the best way to avoid the roll... smooth. Scte can be man handled, AE not so much.
