I think your fine! My plus 4 seems a little loose when warm but when cold can bearly be turned over. I heat to 190* - 200* before every start and I am starting my 5th gallon this season on saturday. Knock on wood it runs like a champ. Like you said, your probably just paranoid. I'm the same way about my nitro equipment. But when it comes to E-buggy i go the cheap route to run (turnigy lipo and hobbyking esc)
