Hey everybody. I have read through about 90 pages looking for an answer to my question on shocks and upgrades. Since I have not seen it yet, I am going to just add to the giant thread to see if I get a response.
I just purchased the RTR kit with all stock parts and after making a few minor adjustments, took it out racing with some buddies. I already have made up my mind to upgrade the chassis, but I wanted to know what people recommend as the first or second upgrade they recommend from the stock kit. Second question, regarding shocks. I know the shocks on the stock car are woefully inefficient and will not stand up to jumps and a rough track for long. Someone mentioned a switch to straight Losi shocks, and entire new set. Another friend mentioned another manufacturer and yet a third recommended disassembling the shocks I have and just changing out a few pieces. Any recommendations?

As a new RTR owner, I know you have an insatiable upgrade fever. Don't completely give into it! Fight the urge to buy everything Avid and JConcepts sell.
Yeah the servo is pretty crappy... get a Savöx 1257 or 1258. The shocks actually aren't bad at all, just not great to rebuild and you really have to pay careful attention to remove any flashing on all those tiny plastic pieces. Stick with them til you get better. If you must, just get some V2 shocks and do a BB conversion like (almost) everybody else. Or, just wait til the AE BB shocks come out.
