It was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be. I held the outdrive on my bench with pliers and used my hand drill with the grinding bits. I did go through 2 grinding bits to do all 4 outdrives but they're pretty cheap so not a big deal. I also ground down the overall length of the outdrive, the bones are nowhere near falling out at full droop so it's completely safe.
Don't know the weight distribution but I would think it's pretty close to 50/50. I couldn't believe how light it was when I threw it on the scale though, this is my first R/C car to be underweight. I plan on picking up 4 little scales at Harbor Freight sometime this week so I'll know the distribution pretty soon.
Thanks for the info. Ilike this mod better than just limiting shock travel.
Which Harbor Freight scales, or other scales work well?
