oil vs spring

You guys seem like the right ones to ask this pretty basic question, and I hope I'm not asking this in an inappropriate thread as I haven't been posting in awhile, but it does involve suspension...

With the Minis, we just cut a piece of lexan to go between the posts. Keep the holes for the body posts tight, and most side-to-side movement is eliminated. Certainly light, but probably not as...

The TA06 ball diff does fit, but the new M07 gear diffs are smoother and last much longer. Ball diffs get "gritty" fast, requiring a lot more maintenance.
I guess I should have put this comment...

I don't do carpet, just outdoor asphalt (Tamiya track). The stock 100k is too stiff. Car won't go straight nor rotate. I can get high 16's by mixing 7000k with the 100,000k stock stuff about...

You shouldn't really need a cooling fan unless you terribly over-gear your car. BUT, that's exactly what racers do, over-gear the poo out of their cars in the quest to go faster and win. Crazy,...

When the motor is positioned in front of the axle line, don't all sorts of bad weight shift things happen? Vehicle weight/mass should be between the axles, as close to centerline as possible...exact...

That's an interesting point, but exactly what and how would that change? The buggies I'm familiar with all use 3-gear.
Check out wtcc's FF project...fascinating...he changed to a 2-gear.

Yes, of course some weight is needed because it's a four-wheeled vehicle. But my beloved old M03, which has very little weight on the rear wheels, can get similar lap times to my M07.

That extra gear seems to push the motor back, which pushes the battery back; I don't think that's going to work out well with FWD?

Yeah. Opening up shock and gear ratio is bad decision. Sure they will make the trucks handle better and go faster, but that's not really the point.

I understand...
