I just bought a JL10e as well. For a power plant I went with a Novak Havoc 3s esc and a Novak 6.5 SS Pro motor. They are both remanufactured units but they carry the same warranty their new stuff...

It handles well. I installed some upgrades and it made it even better. Titanium steering and upper links, slipper clutch, aluminum shocks. Now if I could only get my hands on a sway bar kit.
