There was extra material added to the outer section for strength, I believe. I noticed that the upper arms on my X1 '23 had extra material there, as well.

On mine, one of the hall sensors had fallen off of the board. The motor ran for two laps around the track before it slowed. I pulled it apart to find the sensor missing entirely from the board.

No, the hex is 12mm. F1 wheels are 14mm. The only truer adapter that I know of for F1 wheels is the one that Exotek makes.
