I thought that the center hole on the pro rc carbon was preferred, it is still farther back then the stock.

Also, the instructions suggest black grease on the threads, I found that makes a big difference once they start to thread. Drill chuck sounds like a good idea but I was able to use elbow grease...

so to partly answer my own question. the center diff mount is different between the x and the xe. likely the reason they have the xtra washer.

Reversed collars.

I also noticed the Reversed collars in the photo above but would say that that is how they came pre-assembled, so you have to reverse them to build like the manual instructs
