Generally the battery lead is plugged into a lead heading to the switch. Then from the switch a lead goes to your receiver. Unplug the battery lead and unplug the switch lead going into the receiver....

Bypass the switch by plugging the battery straight into the receiver. Switches can fail out of nowhere and give you quite a headache trying to figure out whats wrong.

Its definitely not a grinding sound... It starts out low pitched once the clutch engages and gets higher as the speed increases in the drive train. Its also more noticeable if the truggy is running...

Sounds like its a little rich on the bottom you can usually get it to fire up if you give it a little throttle as you turn it over but not a lot!

On the new carb 1.5 turns in from flush should get you right about 2.5 mm. You can start flush on the low end but with the wide gap you should have to richen it up from there for the break in.
