Generally the battery lead is plugged into a lead heading to the switch. Then from the switch a lead goes to your receiver. Unplug the battery lead and unplug the switch lead going into the receiver....

On the new carb 1.5 turns in from flush should get you right about 2.5 mm. You can start flush on the low end but with the wide gap you should have to richen it up from there for the break in.
