No. The sharpie tip is elevated so when you draw the line you are cutting off everything below that line. The tip is approximately 8-10mm from the board.

I've heard some guys using CoreRC Schumacher springs on carpet. You have to use the Schumacher lower spring perches. A lot of the AE guys are doing the same thing.

So, I assume nobody has tried...
