Questions?? Opinions on JConcepts Fuzz Bite, and Pin Swag tires?

Anyone try the new Pin Swag (rear), and/or Fuzz Bite (front or rear) tires from JConcepts? What are your thoughts?

And what do you normally run that you’re comparing them to?

Fuzz Bites work well right out of the package. I typically run twin pins with the sidewalls glued, and swagger fronts on high grip office carpet. The fuzz bites didn't require and gluing of the sidewalls and I matched my hot laps with the other tire combo. Pay attention to the direction of the pins, this tire is directional, kinda like ellispe.

Thanks for the Input! Were you running Fuzz Bites in the rear, and Swaggers up front? Also wondering how the Fuzz Bite fronts, compare to the Swaggers.

I'm also curious about these new tires from JConcepts, waiting for availability.
I recently tried various tires on astro-turf, my findings :

2WD front
Schumacher 6592 Stagger Rib are really good and durable, never searched for something else
4WD front
Schumacher 6855 Cactus fusion, really like them, durable
JConcepts 3166 Swaggers 4wd front, good tires but more fuzzy than cactus fusion and little less durable
Proline 8284-103 Prism 2.0 Z3, perfect copy of cactus fusion

Rear
Schumacher 6608 Mini Pin, Good tires but the wear is too fast
Proline 8267-103 Pyramid Z3, Good grip and they are very durable
Proline 8292-103 Hexon Z3, Good grip and very durable, my favourite up to now
JConcepts 3190 Twin pins, really like them at the beginning, but the wear is too fast

Fuzz bites are really good, especially the fronts. They also have good life as well.

Pin swags are pretty good as well but do not last very long before losing time on the clock.

This is running on black and gray carpet

I spent two days testing last weekend on black carpet.

Friday I ran my normal swaggers and twin pins as I was making a first run on a new buggy. B6.2 to a B6.3.

I got to where I felt comfortable and just like that combo had worked in the past for me.

Came in Sat morning started with same swaggers and twin pins to get a base line for the morning.

Same laps as I left on Fri night.

I then went to fuzz bite fronts and Pin swag rears.

First lap and I noticed I had more steering. Ran two packs and felt they performed the same with both.

I then put on a new set of Fuzz bites all the way around.

First pack and the car was a little freer than before.

Second pack a little better but still freer than any thing I had ran before those.

I even went back to the pits and “flipped” the rears to see if running in a different direction felt better or worse.

Felt the same.

I Then put twin pins on the rear with Fuzz bite fronts.

I had more steering than I wanted. I knew that combo was gonna need some work. Lol

twin pins and swagger lap 13.0-13.1’s

fuzz bite and pin swag lap 12.8-12.9’s

fuzz bite all around 13.0-13.2’s

Hope this helps.

I trimmed all rear foams down “sharpie height” on each side.

how has life been on your pin swags? From what I have heard the pin is coned like the Cactus tires, so when the tips are gone at least on those, noticeable drop off. Is that the same with the Pin Swag?

What is "I trimmed all rear foams down “sharpie height” on each side." Is there a video or something on this?

Lay the insert flat on a board. Lay a sharpie flat on the board. Trace the line and then use a long exacto blad to cut off the portion you marked.

So your trimming the width of a sharpie?. Never heard the term before.
