It depends on what makes sense to you. The M12S/RS are further backwards compatible (Rx and SSL) and also run all of the Gen 2 CODE 10 and lowest latency stuff.

2 cell LiFe batteries are 6.6 volts nominal. Nothing wrong. A LiFe will not charge up to 7.2 volts unless you force it which you don't want to do.
