My opinion: it depends on your reason for wanting them. The unis themselves are definitely lower maintenance than the CVDs. My unis show very little wear after the past year. But I’ve found myself...

I’ve just put in the HW EZRun Max 8 to run 6S. The 2000kv on 4S was fine - tons of power and speed. But I wanted to try 6S for longer runs and lower temps. BTW, I use the truggy chassis in my MT410.

14 fits ‘cause I’m running a 48 spur. But I had to raise the center diff about 2mm to do it.

I’m betting I was just under geared. I’m gonna try a 16 pinion next. But I’m afraid to ‘cause it was...

I just tried running a 6S setup for the first time. 1550kv motor with a 14 tooth pinion. I’m also using a 48 tooth steel spur instead of the stock 44 tooth.

It got REALLY hot. I mean 200 F hot...

I’ve run a 74mm 2000kv motor for a while now. 16 or 17 tooth pinion, depending on the tires. Not enough power for standing back flips, but great on the track.

I run mine with the truggy chassis 'cause I mainly drive on the local 8th scale dirt track where I don't want back flips. It floats over bumps and jumps and it's fun to watch other cars get out of...

Anybody know where I can find an unpainted Rival body? I'm running my MT410 on the ET48 chassis and I'm due for a new lid. I can't find one in stock anywhere!

That's strange. Been driving my EB48.3 for 2 years and ET48.3 for over a year and haven't broken an outdrive. Only bent a few shock shafts.

I can't speak to the quality of the Tekno unis. But I'm sure they're as tough as the rest of the car. But I've been using the Associated unis in my EB48.3 for months with no signs of wear.

Definitely the .3 rear hubs and C-hubs and 4 more bearings (same size as outer bearings). The Tekno unis are great but the Associated RC8.3B unis fit and cost less. Also, Kyosho unis fit, but you...

I run the Tekin 2000 truggy motor with an 18 tooth pinion without excessive motor heat - typically 160 after a 12 minute run. But I'll drop to a 17 tooth when ambient temps are really warm.

The Kyoshos and Associated unis can be purchased cheap on eBay or Dollarhobbyz. And I've seen a few sets of Teko shafts fail (pins pop out). Haven't seen that with Kyosho or Associated.
