I am on the original firmware. But mystery...

I am on the original firmware.
But mystery solved. Here is what I did:
1. Isolated my sensor cable away from the 3 motor leads.
This alone did not fix it but I believe this is just good practice....

Am I correct to say that running a fixed kv (let's say 2050) with appropriate gearing for the track, 4S will draw less current than 3S? So lower kv with 4s is kinder to the ESC than 3S with higher kv?
