The Sakura Zero S is a great kit, I hope you enjoy it! Invest in a high quality 2mm hex driver, and use oil or grease on the screws, or you'll be stripping the heads a lot.

The m03 requires extra parts to extend the chassis. The m05 can adjust to short, medium, and long wheelbases just by moving things around.

I got a Sakura Zero S with no hop-ups other than pinions/spurs to adjust the gearing. I'm running it in 17.5T as well, also as a newb.

If I got only one hop-up, it would be better...

I have a Kimbrough high torque saver on one M05. My problem is play in the (unshimmed) stock steering parts, not a weak saver. I don't think it affects performance as much as my poor driving does......
