I will try the boiling in water. I just don't want to lose the tire if I can help it. I know they are only $40 for a pair but still gotta save some money when you can.

Well I got a 17mm conversion kit on one of the slash's I just bought. Needless to say They have the hex on the outside to hold the wheel but there is a nut that goes in the center to hold the hex on....
