Kind of fun; I was able to run my sc10 on a lipo 1700mah28C mini battery without fear of turning my car into a...

That would defeat the purpose of a troll post.

I think realistically we are trying to simplify a complicated subject. Teaching ohm's law in a post may be a bit challenging. What the heck is IR...

I would keep going bigger on pinion; just monitor the temps on speed controller/battery/motor carefully; keeping battery/speed controller under 160; lipo battery under 115.

I think castle only...

c rating = punch or low end throttle

I have some cheaper packs that cog if you try to hammer the throttle.

Also temps tend to go up when you are running a battery that cannot properly handle...

wow!

Running a 3S lipo with trinity 6.5T 550 motor; completely insane power. Makes my associated b44.1 with a novak 5.5T feel slow/underpowered in comparison.

Had some minor traction rolling issues;...

We are not saying that they dont work; it just under performs; by the time you gear it up to get the speed the temps get to high at 7.4V range.

To "us"; there is not point in running a 540 motor...

Couldn't agree more.

Traxxas has brought a ton of people into the hobby. There vehicles are frigging tanks and allow novices to learn with replacing a A-arm or shock tower every time they loose...

mod 1 gears

Also the scte is using mod 1 gears; the gear mesh is loud and much less smooth compared to its 48 pitch cousin. I basically tighten all the way up snug the adjuster; then back off a tiny bit to...

As the above post mentioned you could gear up.

Is the front or rear (or both) traction rolling? (you can usually tell by wear on tire)

Traction roll can be reduced by:

laying down the...

Review Losi ten-scte week 1

Summary:

Just some notes on week 1 on the track with the new losi scte.

Car is just plain awesome; first night, puttering around, barley trying and it placed in the A main out of 30 cars.

blah

Considering integy was the only one to release a alternative chassis for the sc10 I really don't think you can say they are ripping people off. The main drive for making the change was this was the...

b44.1 building questions

Hello,

Just spent the weekend building a b44.1; had some questions:

1. Shocks are loose on top mount; should I install a o-ring? Triple checked instructions; not missing anything.

2. ...

I agree; for extra 50 or so for a castle setup; it is well worth it. The speed controllers are tanks. (even saw one survive a cross plug-in due to a lipos removable wires)

hmm

6 teeth on pinion is a big jump;

you may want to try 22 first and then check motor temps after 5 mins.

Brushless motors do not like heat;I'd be wary of anything over 150F (you should be able to...

best thing to due is to google search for a local hobby shop in your area.

They should be able to help you out.

That said a sledgehammer approach would be to upgrade the esc+motor with a...

With Lipos its very important not to run a motor that can pull more then your battery

Basically buy the max c rating for the hottest motor you every tend to use. Most motor manufacturers have there max watts posted.

Pulling a lipo at a higher c-rate can cause a pretty firework...

Hey Guys,

Just installed my graphite a couple of hours ago; testing on track tomorrow (indoor carpet w/ jumps).

I was impressed for a integy part; no real quality / fit issues. Like the...

Both are fun

Typically better head to head racing in on-road (especially circle track).

Off road is fun to find a fast lane and timing on jumps.

Setup, motor and type of car in on-road make a much bigger...

hmmm

good question; motor magic meets marketing :)

motors will always hit there max rpm or die trying (in theory)

kv = max rpms ie: 4200x7.4v=31,000rpm

max watts = torque / acceleration

turns...

4x4

Should add that the 4x4 SC;s look like more fun. :) But the division tends to be smaller due to cost (less competition).

eek

I'm not trying to insult slash's; there center of gravity is too high and there stock parts are too bendy. Putting them at a distinct disadvantage out of the box.

There are a couple of guys...

Keep in mind that the gears have a inverse relationship; so changing both is somewhat counter productive. Just buy a value 10 pack of Robinson(or other brand) pinions to play with.

Electric...

+1 tekin

From those choices; tekin is far better.

I would vote for a novak 10.5/4200 ballistick or ss series motor. I am fairly impressed with longevity and the ease of rebuilding these motors.

short course take over

I'd go with short course; as the ST's are disappearing. Both my local tracks have stopped racing 1/10 ST's completely.

I much prefer my matt francis xxx-t; but went with a sc-10; as racing by...
