It should be possible, I am not sure which size hex's you would need. I would just measure it as if it were going to be ran on the track then do the same with the b6 wheels on it and go from there.

The pinion gear on the motor is the normal 48 pitch pinion gear.
You may have gotten confused with talking about the front and rear diffs using a ring and pinion style gear.
