Look into a TA05. It's only a little more and is a far nicer car.

The TA05 is the perfect car for a begginning racer, but there are more advanced options. The PRO 4 is a bit too advanced (And expensive!) and the FT TC4 is also a bit pricey, but a good FT TC3 on Ebay is a great way to start the carnage at your track. HPI RS4's are still great choices, and the PRO 3 is still a great car. The TA05 is a mid motor belt drive car. Tamiya shaft driven TC's are always overbuilt and inefficient. I don't know why, but they love to add about 6 or 7 more gears than are neccesary! The TA05 is a great car for the new electric racer, but if you want something a bit faster and more "Race Inspired" look to Yokomo, Team Associated or XRAY. The Losi XXX-S is also a good choice, but it doesn't have the long standing record that the other brands have.

If you want performance and durability in a package that's easy to use and set-up, then the TA05 is for you! If you don't care about ergonomics, then there are more expensive options out there. The new TA05 is a force to be recconed with however, and it definatly falls into the same performance category of the other more expensive cars, but it's a bit easier for the begginner to get used to.

There is a guy running mod touring at my track with a PRO 3 and he couldn't be happier (Unless he had a PRO 4 ).

Why don't you like the PRO 3?

good for him but they are so outdayted and the technolgy is worse than the pro 2 as the pro 2 can trun cercials around the pro 3 any day of the week, there is a guy at our club track that has won a coupple mains at our track with the pro 2 and is beatn rays tc's and such (4 cell)

I have a TT-01 and just got a TA-05 as my first racer. I wouldn't consider the TT-01 race-worthy, as its setup options are severely limited. The TA-05 on the other hand offers just enough to get the thing to handle well, without it being overkill.

Between the two cars you mentioned I would definitely go with the TB-02

Yeah, if your going to start, I bet you will crash and the TB-02/ EVo3 has drivetrain issues. The bevel and diff gears strip easy on a any easy crash. TA_05 is a belt car so the belt can flex unlike shaft cars. Also less diff problems.

Tamiya always has issues with their bevel gears. Look at the Juggernaut 1! They should probably look into a dramatic redesign of their whole trannsmission lineup...at least those that use bevel gears.

Thanks for the reponses, I think I'll go the TA 05, as I am stuck for cash because I'm still going to race my Nitro - belt driven.
