Best electronics for a Axial Yeti?

Hi,

I'm about to buy an Axial Yeti kit - What would be the best electronics? (I've got a Futaba 3PK), also any recommendations for engine and ESC? I've seen others are using HobbyWing?

Cheers

The included 3150KV 4-pole brushless motor - This from the Axial RTR version of the Yeti.

With that said- any 550 motor should be adequate for what you need. It is a larger vehicle so the 550 (which is more of a SC style motor vs a true 1/8th scale motor) should be enough power.

They recommend 2 or 3s lipo for power- so any compatible battery should be fine.

You recommended HW-

This seems like a great combo Esp. when you factor the WaterProof factor (thought I personally never really can trust things like that, so I don't usually go play when its wet.... but that's me. )

Battery- there are plenty of options, anything 2s or 3s should suffice. See what fits your budget.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, this is super helpful, I see this one is sensor-less, what are the advantages of going for a sensor based engine? Does it matter for a crawler?

In my opinion, sensored is the only way to go if you are ever going to do any low speed crawling. The motor and ESC "talk" to each other which results in a much smoother throttle and overall better responsiveness.

With a sensorless system, you would more than likely experience "cogging" which is like a stutter type of feeling and is no good for a slow crawl.

Okay I'm probably looking at something like the XERUN SCT Competition system then.

Thanks!

I run that combo in my Tekno sct and have no complaints, it will be on its second race season.

I'm planning to run a Toro 150A and an SMC 1900kV sensored motor. Not sure how well the Skyrc stuff will work, but I've read/heard good things. I'm a Castle fan normally...
