Default 4x4 sc trucks

Hi,
I am looking to get into sc but not sure what truck to get. It is just for fun with my scaler/crawler friends at a local track. Looking at sc10 4x4, losi scte ten, losi sct410. what is the difference between the sct410 and the scte ten? Thank you in advance for your help.

I have thought about doing the same and what I have been hearing is the Traxxas Slash is good along with SC10 but they break more frequently.

Tekno makes the SCT410, Losi makes the SCTE. Two different trucks with their own characteristics. Imho The Tekno is much more durable and easier to drive.

with the losi it is kinda confusing. there are two different ones out there.

1. there is a losi race roller. it has none of the tlr goodies, but it is cheap.

2. there is a TLR kit, this has all the nice goodies, and upgraded parts. It is more that the tekno though, which is arguably a better truck.

TLR is team losi racing. they are the "race devision" of losi. Like TRF if the race devision of tamiya.

For a cheaper option i would look at the ofna nexx10 sct or the jammin scrt10 (almost the same truck). I love mine and online parts support is fine on amainhobbies.com. Also STRC and ofna have plenty of upgrade options. i bashed mine for a year then i started racing it. I can actually make the amain in 4x4 sct at my local track (mikes rc in WA).
There are always a couple on ebay if you look.

if you dont want a used car (new jammins are overpriced) then the scte 1.0 rolling chassis is only like $210 from stormer hobbies last time i checked.

The original Ten-SCTE by Losi can be had for cheap now since the 2.0 came out. I've seen it as low as $200 for the race roller. And for not a whole lot of money it can be a very competitive race vehicle. I have one with the TLR tuning kit ($80 at the time that I got it) and have raced it.

thanks for all the comments. I'm kinda leaning to the losi ten because of the open tray not like the sc10 4x4 with the belt in the middle.

If youre bashing the Losi is an option. If youre racing look into the Tekno. Its very nimble and very quick. Its also a tank in durability.

The sc10 is a maintenance whore. It can be very fast but it takes alot of patience to get it to that point. The Tekno and Losi are very similar as far as durability and ease of maintenance. But, the Tekno will stay "tighter" longer than the Losi. The Losi will develop a good amount of slop right off the bat. Which is not to detrimental to the performance, I feel it actually drives better with a little more slop. An SCTE 1.0 is a great truck especially with a King Headz chassis

Thanks for all the input. Went with a losi scte. I like the big open area opposed to the sc10 tight fit. Get alittle more breathing room for the esc/motor. Majority of the guys run sc10 4x4 so had to be the odd ball. I will be running a tekin rx8 with a pro4 4600 motor and a savox 1256 servo. Any tips on this sct is greatly appreciated Thanks again.

That is a great setup, you will be happy with it.

But where do you see more SC10 4x4 than Losi/Tekno/Durango? Most people I know that tried the SC10 ditched it some time shortly there after for simpler shaft drive rigs.

Maybe he does indoor, or carpet. If so, the sc10 would have been a better choice.

a couple of guys from our scale/crawler group picked up sc just to change things up for fun. We run at a outdoor track. Wanted to get the same truck so we can help each other out. (share parts etc...) lol but saw how tight things were so looked in to a losi scte looked like my exo 3 diffs 2 drive shafts and alot of room and was hooked.
