I was 14 with my first car the tamiya tl01la built extreme, Now im 27 and I still have it. I can still remember my mum cutting all the decals out that toke her 2 hours lol.
Back then our club raced on polished floor boards.

Personally, the only one of my 6 cars I have owned I had to build. It was a TLR 22 buggy. I enjoyed building it, to an extent. I prefer to buy RTR then change out what needs to be changed out for tuning. I work damn hard for my money and prefer to buy something, use it , then work on it... I think I'm just lazy that way

1/5 large scale FG EVO Competition is my favorite, never owned one but have help build one. This RC is a piece of art; loaded with aluminum, carbon, 4 disk brakes, differentials...

Awesomatix
I reckon building a 1/5th scale FG EVO would defiantely be great if I could afford the kit.
I have built only a few cars - losi xxx BK1, tamiya F104 v2, kyosho - zx5 fs2 & RB6, tamiya 4i7v5 and awesomatix A700ex.
And although japanese kits are nice to build, By far and away the best of these to build has been the AWESOMATIX.
- Precision fit
-perfect gear diff - full bearings, seals that dont leak, exact mesh without making changes [makes the 417v5 diff look CHEAP].
-extra small parts in the kit!! yes believe it or not, you get xtra shims, fasteners, pins etc. So if you drop something in the long carpet [haha] you dont need to search you can just grab another one[lazy].

My AE T4 truck.. for some reason it was one of my fav builds (I think it was when I switched from being a Losi guy to an AE guy and realised how much better AE cars are)

Yes I have built 1x A700EX. It was a pleasure.
I also own a Tamiya 417v5 which is high quality but the Awesomatix for quality is better in a few areas - example - Diff design and quality, amount of steering free play from new.
The drivetrain is very free also.
Its very interesting to have a car that is so unique too.
The suspension I am told is sealed for life - maintenance free.

I thought building my tc3 into a drifter was an awesome build but once I got to completing it I moved to another so I can't really say I have a favorite if I jump onto another build but the one I enjoy so far is my scaler scx10 just because options and upgrades are endless... lol
