When you get a new radio i would get the MX3-X is better and has usefull and features that the $300 have its $170 some places its cheaper than that !

That is a possibility too, I just wish these sub $200 radios were back lit.

Find a used FM M11. That's what I use as I find it to be faster than all but the absolute best 2.4 systems. I got it for next to nothing and it's fantastic.

Plus with the new Airtronics coming, you will probably start seeing M11Xs going pretty cheap on the used market.

yeah, I have a m8 FM radio. It functions just fine and since no one used that freq anymore, I don't get many glitch issues. But my antenna embarrassed me , so i got a fly sky. One day I was standing on the drivers stand and some factory guy made a joke about my antenna, lol. That was the last day my M8 went to the track.

I dislike several things about the Fly Sky, I am by no means trying to act as a salesman for the radio. Its a great radio for new ppl. But it feels cheap, has no led to tell you when the power is on, lots of software bugs and pretty much requires a $35 firmware fix to make it better. But i race at night time and the backlit is great, its has the EPA and multi model functionality. Those are the only features I really use besides trims.

I guess this entire thread comes down to this. Do you have the cash for a 150-300 dollar radio? If so, go buy one. It all comes down to how much $$ is burning a hole in your pockets. I recently lost my job, so a $35 radio is fine by me. When I get more cash down the road I will probably upgrade.

I get the occasional joke about my antenna too. My response is to kick their ass on the racetrack.

I do miss my m8. I should convert it to lipo since the battery tray is meh. And it falls out a lot.
