I see that now but at least I haven't really ordered anything yet. Just some parts from ebay for the chassis. I didn't see the can size there before but now I do. I'll be more careful now as I look around but at least it's something to consider if I ever want to get a 1/16th scale. =)

I might check out NitroRCX for some stuff. Any other site recommendations?

Can anyone recommend a 1/10th scale motor/ESC set that's relatively cheap and reliable? Just something to get me started that's brushless.

Anywhere from $80 to $100 for the ESC and motor.

Not waterproof, and def. fast. Dynamite Fuze. Its programmable and available in several choices.

I would also check out Venom.

I did find a Fuze motor/esc combo on ebay but I think the brushless system might be too powerful for me. I played around with my boyfriend's Rustler VXL with Talons and the battery was already drained, it still felt too fast for me and he was running a 16/86. Is a 2700kv motor less powerful than a 3300kv motor? Maybe I should start off with a less powerful brushless. Any ideas? I really only want to go maybe a max speed of 30 mph because I like to run off-road. =)

Thanks again!

One more thing, there is a spare VXL-3s esc. =) Can that run any brushless motor or does it have to be a Velineon?

Yes, a 2700 will be slower than a 3300.

However, you can also, depending on your radio, turn down the EPA adjustment to limit how much throttle is applied at full throttle. That will slow the car down for now without having to actually change or buy anything else.

change the ESC to training mode, you will have only 50% of the motor max power
