Default Hello All

HI! NewB here. I have some time on my hands and I'm thinking about getting a RC car. I'm just hanging out reading posts and trying determine what I should buy. I am sure it will be electric and off-road but that's about all I know so far. Since I am new, I'm thinking low maintenance would be a good thing to start with and that is a consideration. I won't be doing any racing, just running around the backyard.

Whats up.Go to your local hobby shop and see what classes they are running and ask for some opinions there.

If you want my opinion go with the Traxxas Slash.

Good luck.

Thanks. I was looking at the slash. Should I go with the VXL out of the gate? Is the 4X that much more maintenance or are they about the same as 2X.

the 4wd would def b better for bashing and backyard but there will b a lil more maintenance with that choice over the 2wd...i would def go with the vxl over the brushed version

My first vehicle was a Traxxas Stampede. It offered tons of fun in the backyard. It could jump. It ran reasonably fast and was tough. Plus, there is tons of aftermarket support. However, if you even slightly think that you may want to race I'd go with a different vehicle. Like the Slash.

Indeed, the Slash would be a great starter truck. Brushless vs Brushed is no comparison. Go brushless from the start.

VXL would do best for bashing because it offers speed and aceleration that will make your driveing more injoyable. I have one right now and it flys on and off the track!

I beat my pede to death jumped everything had it a good 12 feet in the air at times and it rarely broke. It was a great starter truck for me but it did not handle worth a crap on a course...
