First race

Would you believe I made 3rd in the A main. It was just dumb luck but that's where I ended up. I qualified for the B main but everyone else broke so they stopped the race and told me to just run the A main. the A main was 30 mins long and by the time it was done everyone had broke but 3 of us. I was last but hey that's 3rd in the A main. I had a lot of fun and learned tons. I also made a few new friends that helped me a lot on my set up and driving tips. I had a great time and can't wait for the next race..
Thanks guys

Sound like you had fun and did a good job!
Things that help me are to stay calm, cool and collective. Once I get a little nerved it just keeps escalating.
Practice will also give you tons of confidence, experience and you can hang with the guys and ask questions, learn techniques.
Do not be afraid to have someone check your vehicle out or test drive it - if you are ok with that.
I had one of our best drivers drive my truck once and told me three things I needed to change to help my truck. Did them and had more laps, better control and was in the a-main.
Just have fun!!!

Sounds like you're doing well, so keep at it
Consistancy is a word worth remembering, a fast lap is good, but not if the next 5 or so are slow
As others have said, keep your car clean and check for any worn parts, rather than have a broken car and not finishing the race.
I've raced for about 15 years and still learning lots, so never be afraid to ask questions.
All the best
