Default Whats the difference between stock and mod?

I was wondering what the difference was between stock truck/buggy and mod truck/buggy is? I know that mod obviously means modifications allowed, but what specifically? Thanks.

Mod doesnt mean modifications allowed.

Mod & stock are usually used to class electric motors (and classes)
A stock motor is 27t usually and mod motors (what you would use in the mod class) are lower turns usually under 12t

oh so the lower the number of the engine, the faster it is? for instance a 7.5t motor would be faster than a 17.5t motor?

Correct. And the lower turn faster motor will need lower gearing too (smaller pinion).

For brushless generally 17.5 is the stock, including ROAR, but some tracks use 13.5. Ask at yours.

Car/chassis mods within the general rules are allowed in either. Except perhaps for some 'spec' classes, which are track by track generally.

the only difference between mod and stock is the size of the motor. everything else is the same.

engines have pistons and use fuel. motors use electricity. big difference. and, the brushed electric motors run on dc power, as brushless motors run on 3 phase ac power.

if you dont believe me, then go f yourself!!!

dude chill hes new and dident realize. its just a term motor engine who cares.

in mod you can use any motor you want where as stock/limited mod/spec/19 turn they all have motor limits. usually the fast guys run mod the newbs run sportsman and guys in between run the others except for spec anyone runs that its usually just a fun class

i wasnt telling him to go f himself!! that was just directed to anyone who disagrees with me as people have in the past. thats all...nothing against the man who created this thread. sorry if you thought i offended you. the engine and motor misconception has been around for years, no big deal to me actually. but it can be annoying when people do not learn and keep making the mistake , and that goes with a lot of things.

good luck with your new hobby, ask as many questions as possible, and dont worry about how fast your r/c is, just concentrate on getting around the track without crashing or flipping~!!!

i went from flipping after every little bump and jump to smoothly getting around the track in a few weeks....practice.
