If you can try to find a used M8. Definitely one of the best radios of all time. I was lucky to get mine used from David Lee for a decent price. Probably the nicest guy you could ever meet.

NOTE: David is the Roar region 2 director and took 8th place in the 12th Masters A main at the 2003 NORCAR Halloween Classic. Damn great job IMO.

If your hands are quite large, like mine are, I don't think an Airtronics grip will make you happy. Theirs are quite thin. The JR's and Futaba's have larger grips to fill larger hands. Another option is to use tennis tape to work up the grip size. I did that even on my XS3, though the grip was comfortable to begin with. I'm also impressed with the balance of the XS3, compared to my buddies' M8. It's al up to your preference and budget.
